An ID photo studio that runs inside your browser

Pixfit is a completely free online ID photo maker built for people who need to produce a passport photo, visa photo, national ID photo, or exam registration photo in a hurry. No downloads, no signup — open the page, upload a portrait, and you get a compliant electronic ID photo in seconds.

We use MODNet, an industry-leading portrait-segmentation AI model, running entirely in your browser to cut out the subject and replace the background. The full pipeline — cut-out, recolour, crop, compress, print layout — happens locally on your device. No photo is ever uploaded to a server.

Pixfit ships with 28 of the most common ID photo specifications: US visa (51×51mm), Schengen visa (35×45mm), UK visa (light grey background), Japan visa (45×45mm), Chinese national ID, passports for most countries, Hong Kong / Macao / Taiwan travel permits, and Chinese national exam registration formats. Every preset captures the official pixel, DPI, and file-size limits, so you can export a compliant JPG / PNG / WebP in one click.

Frequently asked questions

About making ID photos online, swapping backgrounds, and hitting file-size limits.

Is Pixfit free?

Yes — completely free, with no watermark and no paywall. Pixfit runs in your browser and there are no export limits.

Will my photo be uploaded to a server?

No. Cut-out, background replacement, cropping, and compression all happen locally in your browser. The original file never leaves your device.

How do I change the background to white / blue / red?

After uploading a photo, open the Background panel. Pixfit uses the MODNet AI model to remove the background locally, then one-tap presets switch between standard white, visa blue, ID red, or any custom hex colour.

Which countries and document types are supported?

Pixfit ships with 28 specs out of the box: Chinese national ID / 1- and 2-inch / passport, Hong Kong / Macao / Taiwan travel permits, 14 popular visa formats (US, Schengen, UK, Canada, AU/NZ, JP/KR, Southeast Asia, Russia, India), and three Chinese national exam registration formats.

Can I compress a photo to 30 KB / 50 KB?

Yes. In Export, the "Compress to target KB" option binary-searches JPG/WebP quality and downscales pixels if needed, landing within ±5% of your target — useful for civil-service exam portals and visa filings with strict file-size caps.

How do I lay out multiple photos onto A4 or 5R / 6R paper?

The Layout panel lets you pick paper size (A4 / 5R / 6R) and a template (eight 1-inch / sixteen 1-inch / mixed 1+2-inch, etc.). Pixfit auto-tiles the photos with crop marks and exports as PNG or vector PDF, ready for the print shop.

Can I use this on a phone browser?

Yes. Pixfit works on mobile Safari and Android Chrome. The first cut-out downloads ~6 MB of AI model weights — connect to Wi-Fi the first time, then the entire pipeline runs in-browser.
